From the new product’s design up to production
I had always wanted to do the same job as my father who worked in an automobile manufacturing technology department - engaging with people on the site, moving around and setting up a production line.
I decided to work in Musashi because I wanted to work overseas, and I heard from one of retired Musashi employees that I could do a wide range of work as long as I have a high motivation. He was right. In my second year, I was given a chance to work in a product launch of new Camshaft. I decided which machine to use, placed an order with a supplier, checked the installation process of the machine, checked whether it worked smoothly, and handed it over to the people working in the site. Instead of just waiting and following the instructions of my seniors, as a project leader, I have to think proactively and make decisions while consulting with my superiors. I have been “Leader character” ever since, so this kind of environment suits me very well.
The quality of the equipment affects the company's profits and we are responsible for it
As a mathematic graduate, I started with zero knowledge of machines, and I am learning while working. In my first year in the company, I gained knowledge through three months of experience in processing products at the site, and I was able to build a friendly relationship with the staff there, which also helped me to think about equipment that is easy to use at the site. On the other hand, I believe that having zero experience in mechanical field will be positive because I can propose a new concept of machining. I have been visiting exhibitions to increase my technical skills. Although I have been entrusted certain roles to some extent, I am still not satisfied. I still believe I don’t have the sufficient experience, so I am focusing on remodeling the equipment, but I want to be able to start up a whole new production line as soon as possible like my senior. Executing your idea in production technology means that you are responsible for the outcome of the profit, because one idea may or may not be profitable. I always keep this in mind and try to create an ideal production line.
