Musashi Energy Solutions Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture; President and CEO: Hiroshi Otsuka; hereinafter "Musashi"), announces that the next-generation energy storage device under development by the company has been selected for integration into "Prismo," the new brand of next-generation urban transportation system newly developed and launched by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Eisaku Ito; hereinafter "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries").
Prismo is a new brand in the Crystal Mover family, featuring a catenary-free fully automated guideway transit system (AGT). It is the first to incorporate Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' newly developed energy management system, which enhances energy efficiency by combining rapid charging at stations with regenerative power storage during operation.
This energy management system is equipped with the next-generation energy storage module named Mitsubishi High Power Battery, jointly developed by Musashi Energy Solutions and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, customized specifically for AGT applications. As a result, the system achieves approximately 10% more energy-efficient operation and approximately 10% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to conventional AGT systems, contributing to carbon neutrality in urban transportation.
