~ Expansion of lineup of two & three-wheeled EVs ~

Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Musashi) is pleased to announce that we have started research and development in Electronic City, Bengaluru, India as the "MIDC (Musashi India Development Center) Project" from January 2024, with the aim of expanding the lineup of high-performance e-Axles that are more compact and quiet for two & three-wheeled EVs.
This research and development will be carried out in cooperation with SCTM Engineering Corporation (hereinafter referred to as SCTM), a joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation and Tech Mahindra Ltd., and Musashi. Musashi which is an expert in the mechanism and performance development of e-Axle, will drive R&D by utilizing advanced engineering support in India.
In India, the world's largest two-wheeler market, the government has set a goal of converting 80% of two-wheelers to EVs by 2030, and the need for local production of EVs is also rapidly increasing. The developed e-Axles are aimed at mass production and sales mainly in India and other growth markets including Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, as well as Africa.
Through the supply of e-Axles, Musashi will lead the spread of two & three-wheeled EVs in the Indian market and around the world, and contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality.
