Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd. (Global Headquarters: Toyohashi-city, Aichi, Japan; President and CEO: Hiroshi Otsuka, “Musashi”) has agreed to collaborate with ARC Ride (Headquarters: Nairobi, Kenya; CEO: Jo Hurst-Croft, “ARC Ride”) to co-develop electric 3-wheelers with Musashi’s EV drive unit for marketing into the African market.

On Monday, January 23, 2023, Musashi CEO Hiroshi Otsuka and ARC Ride CEO Jo Hurst-Croft attended a signing ceremony and agreed to collaborate on the development of electric 3-wheelers. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Kipchumba Murkomen.

Musashi and ARC Ride have been strategically collaborating since November 2021 to promote the introduction of new e-mobility technologies in Africa.
Most recently, the companies have released that electric 2-wheelers equipped with Musashi’s EV drive units will be available in the East African market, particularly Kenya, starting in September 2023.
Similar to the 2-wheelers business, Musashi will strategically collaborate with ARC Ride on parts development, design, and data business for electric 3-wheelers, with the aim of developing and marketing them in the East African market.
