Musashi Energy Solutions Co.,Ltd. (Head office: Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture; President: Kouji Takahashi, “Musashi Energy Solutions”), a group company of Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd. (Global Headquarters: Toyohashi-city, Aichi, Japan; President and CEO: Hiroshi Otsuka, “Musashi”) has been selected as a supplier of lithium-ion capacitors (LIC) for the use in Toyota Energy Solutions' stationary fuel cell generators (FC generators).
Toyota Energy Solutions' fuel cell generator uses the FC stacks installed in Toyota's MIRAI fuel cell vehicle. As a sustainable power supply system, the system is being increasingly adopted for applications such as the use of by-product hydrogen generated in manufacturing processes in factories and green hydrogen in public facilities, and is also expected to be used in the fields of hydrogen energy and micro grids, which are expected to become more widespread globally in the future.
Fuel cell generators require a quick response to output fluctuations, especially during stand-alone operation. The LIC presented by Musashi Energy Solutions, which has high input/output characteristics, enables an instantaneous output of 50㎾ during stand-alone operation, thereby improving the performance of FC generators.

The installation of LIC enables stand-alone operation with a maximum load of 50 kVA using the fuel cell generator as a security power source. In addition, the LIC has a wider operating temperature range than conventional batteries, so it can be used in a wider range of conditions.
